Lord, I know I came into this year with high hopes of doing things differently than I did last year. I’ve started well, but I know to keep up the changes that I’ve made, I cannot allow my mind to slip back into its old way of thinking. I know that to keep doing new things, I’ve got to continue to think of new thoughts as I press towards the greatness You placed in me.

I cannot conform to the patterns of the world system. I cannot be concerned with power, position, and money. Instead, I must focus on loving others, helping those less fortunate than me, and being a beacon of hope in a world of despair.

I cannot change the environment around me if I’m the same person I used to be. Keep my mind steadfast on things that will make the world a better place. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
