Real Faith—It’s Not for Wimps

Day Three: Stand Firm

“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” —Habakkuk 2:2–3 (NIV)

True faith is not always neat, pretty, or convenient. People may question what God has called us to do. Friends may fall away. The answer may take longer than we expected. Faith asks us to trust God through all of it.

Noah kept building despite what others may have thought. Jesus endured the cross in obedience to the Father, trusting the promise of what was to come. Their examples remind us that faith is more than believing when the path is clear. Faith keeps going when obedience is costly.

So ask yourself: Do I trust God enough to work while I wait? Will I keep following Him when His timing does not match mine? Will I hold on to my purpose when others do not understand it?

Real faith does not mean we never feel afraid or discouraged. It means we keep turning to God and taking the next faithful step. Stand firm. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” —1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

Question to consider: What would standing firm in faith look like for you today?

Prayer: Lord, help me stand firm when faith feels difficult. Give me courage to obey, patience to wait, and strength to finish the work You have given me. Keep my eyes on You, regardless of what others say or how long the journey takes. Amen.
