Day Four: Remember Your History With God

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the history I have with You. You have been with me from the beginning. You know the circumstances of my birth, the places I have lived, the schools I attended, the person I married, and the children You entrusted to me. I can look back and see Your fingerprints throughout my life. You know everything about me.

Sometimes I feel as though my life is floundering or spiraling out of control. When that happens, Father, remind me that I belong to You. Help me trust Your will for my life, even when I cannot see what comes next.

Keep me from treating hardships, trials, and tribulations as permanent fixtures. Give me godly wisdom to face each difficulty. Use what I am going through to shape me and make me more like Your Son, Jesus Christ.

When obstacles confront me, remind me that You are at work for my good. I belong to Christ, who has overcome the world. Help me face today with courage rooted in Him.

Thank You for opening my spiritual eyes. When I am tempted to worry about my life or my needs, remind me that You care for me. Your Word gives me hope for the future and assures me that You are with me always. I pray in Jesus’ matchless name. Amen.
