A Prayer to Go with What You Know

Lord, thank You for the history I have with You. Thank You for every answered prayer, every door You opened, and every difficult season You helped me endure. When I look back over my life, I can see evidence of Your mercy, Your provision, and Your faithfulness.

Father, when a new challenge stands before me, help me remember what You have already done. Do not let the size of today’s problem cause me to forget yesterday’s testimony. You have carried me through circumstances I did not understand and strengthened me when I thought I had nothing left.

Help me trust You with what comes next.

Lord, give me courage to do what You have asked me to do. When fear tells me to retreat, remind me that I do not have to face the assignment alone. You are with me. Strengthen my heart, steady my thoughts, and help me move forward under Your direction.

Give me the heart, the passion, and the resolve to serve You faithfully. Help me care enough to act, even when obedience requires effort, sacrifice, or stepping beyond what feels comfortable.

Father, keep me from comparing my preparation with someone else’s. Help me recognize and develop the gifts You have placed within me. Teach me to receive wise counsel while remaining faithful to the assignment You have given me.

If I am trying to wear someone else’s armor, help me take it off. Show me how to use what You have placed in my hands. Keep me humble enough to learn and confident enough in You to begin.

Lord, forgive me for the times I have delayed doing what I knew was right. Give me wisdom to recognize Your direction and willingness to respond promptly. Do not let excuses become a substitute for obedience.

When I feel inadequate, remind me that my confidence belongs in You. When I feel afraid, help me remember Your faithfulness. When I am tempted to stand still, show me the next step and give me the courage to take it.

I have history with You. I have reason to trust You. With Your help, I will go with what I know and do what You have called me to do.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
