Lord, I know I came into this year with high hopes of doing things differently than I did last year. I’ve started off well, but I know in order to keep up the changes that I’ve made, I cannot allow my mind to slip back into its old way of thinking. I know that in order to keep doing new things, I’ve got to continue to think of new thoughts as I press towards the greatness that You have placed in me.
I cannot conform to the patterns of the world system. I cannot be consumed with power, position, and money which are so important in the world system. Instead, I must be concerned with loving others, helping those less fortunate than me, and being a beacon of hope in a world of despair.
I cannot change the environment around me if I’m the same person I used to be. Help me keep my mind steadfast on things that will make the world a better place. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
