Prayer for Today

December 29, 2017

Father, I want to believe you like Abraham believed you when you told him he would be the father of many nations. Abraham knew that even though he was advanced in years and had a barren wife who was also advanced in years that you would be true to your word.

When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what you said you would do. And so you made Abraham the father of a multitude of people because you said you would.

I do not delude myself into thinking everything I undertake next year is going to be easy, but I choose to believe like Abraham. Trusting not in what I can do, but trusting and believing in what you said you would do.

You said, everywhere my foot trotted would be blessed – I believe that.
You said, everything my hand touched would be blessed – I believe that.
You said, I will be the head and not the tail – I believe that.
You said, I will be the first and not the last – I believe that.
You said, I will lend but not borrow – I believe that.
You said, I have the right to be called a child of God – I believe that.

Your word is true and it will never return to you void. Your word will always accomplish what you sent it out to do. This is why, I will trust and believe you like Abraham did and, just like Abraham, I will see your word and your promises established in my life. I believe it to be so!

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

10 Second Prayer

God specializes in handling our situations and circumstances. Nothing we can do or anywhere we can go is beyond God’s ability and desire to reach us.

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
