Day – 1

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

There is something deeply attractive about comfort. We naturally gravitate toward what is familiar, predictable, and safe. Comfort offers security. It allows us to function without much risk or uncertainty. We know what to expect, and we become proficient at navigating the routines of our lives. Yet, while comfort feels good, it can quietly become the greatest obstacle to spiritual growth.

One of God’s consistent patterns throughout Scripture is moving His people beyond the boundaries of comfort into places where they must depend entirely upon Him. He does not do this to punish us. Neither does He delight in watching us struggle. Rather, God understands something we often forget: our greatest transformation occurs when we no longer have the ability to rely solely on ourselves.

Comfort often breeds self-sufficiency. Dependence on God produces spiritual maturity. For the next few days, we will look at what it means to discover God’s strength beyond our own.
