Lord God, I should chase after You and all that You have for me, but instead, I spend so much time concerned about the decisions I made back in the day, I’m not focused on the decisions I need to make today. I waste too much time comparing my life to what I see of other people’s lives, and wondering if my life would have been better if I would have, could have, or should have done something different. Forgive me, Lord.
I find myself chasing inward unmet needs or trying to quiet the feelings that I’ll never arrive where I want to be. I spend so much time focusing on these things I find myself not chasing after You. Forgive me, Lord.
I know that You have created me to be satisfied in You alone. Seeking achievement or fulfillment through anything else is a waste of time and only leaves me chasing after something else later on.
Lord, help me to chase after only You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
