Lord God, Your word is my voice of truth. I have listened to other voices. They have told me who I’m not. Those voices what I’m not. Those other voices try to tell me what I can and can’t do. And, I found that if I listen to them, they will keep me stuck in the rut they want for me.
I have listened to the voices on my television, my radio and even from my family members reminding me to stay in my place.
All the voices are loud and constant. They never let up! The negative, nagging, and inimical voices are relentless. Lord God, I’m tired of listening to them!
During this Lenten season, I am committed to renewing my mind by listening to Your voice. I will read and study Your word with renewed energy and conviction. I will listen to and believe You because You are my voice of truth.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
