Lord, it seems that in the middle of everything that’s going on, the hardworking working-class Americans are the one who is losing out. They want to move forward, but it feels like every time they are ready to move out, something happens. They want to go back to work, but they don’t want to catch COVID-19. They are afraid to go to work, but some employers have told them, if they don’t come back when they open the doors, they will lose their jobs.
Moms and dads want to help their children with school work, but it’s just too much to try to help their children while the parent is trying to work from home. It feels like every time they can see a little light at the end of the tunnel, new pops up and slaps them in the face. Sometimes, it seems that everything happens all at once. Lord God, help each family!
Help them keep their eyes on you amid the madness that seems to be breaking out all around us. Help them stay connected to You even when everything around them wants their undivided attention. Help them to keep their hearts and mind off the distractions and keep their minds steadfast on you.
Help them, Lord, to look to You and You alone for help and strength. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
