Prayer for Today

March 18, 2020

Father, we are finding ourselves in sobering times. There is so much uncertainty, fear, doubt, and concern about the Coronavirus, people’s health, the economy, the stock market, and our well-being in general.

Small businesses are concerned about staying afloat. Parents are concerned about their children’s course work, and schools are shifting to online learning. Some households don’t have internet accessibility, and some homes don’t have computers. We are being told to shelter in place, which means these children can’t go to libraries. These children, without any fault of their own, may now be behind the learning curb when they get back to school.

There are children concerned about eating because their only meals are school meals.   People are being isolated. Events are being canceled, and church buildings are being closed. It’s enough to make people forget that You are still in control.

In reality, we have nothing to be anxious about because You are our very present help in the time of trouble. We have nothing to fret over because Your peace transcends all understanding. Even if people are isolated, and are practicing social distancing, You are always with us.

You will take all our burdens, cares, and concerns because You care for us. Thank You, Lord, for being the great I am, being whatever we need, when we need it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

10 Second Prayer

God specializes in handling our situations and circumstances. Nothing we can do or anywhere we can go is beyond God’s ability and desire to reach us.

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
