Father God, as I prepare to continue my day, I know everything is not going to go my way for the rest of the day, the rest of the week, or even the rest of the month. Everything is not going to look the way I think it should, and everyone’s not going to treat me the way I think they should. Other people aren’t going to act the way I think they ought to and some things aren’t going to end the way I think they should end.
Help me to guard my tongue and my emotions. Help me not to be judgmental or condescending. Help me to check my ego and my self-righteousness at every door. The truth is, just because it’s not the way I would do it, doesn’t mean it’s the wrong way to get it done.
Lord, help put everything I see and hear today in a proper perspective. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
