Lord God, with so much going on in the world, it’s easy to allow depression and dismay to take over my mind. Instead, I cast all of my cares on Jesus, for he cares for me.
Every time I turn on the television there is death and mayhem on the news. Our government seems to be coming apart at the seams and our country is divided along racial, economic and political lines with no resolution in sight. It’s all overwhelming.
In the midst of it all, I will not allow my soul to be cast down for I put my hope and trust in God. I will rest in the joy of the Lord because your joy is my strength. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
