Lord, I am blessed because you have forgiven all my sins. You have erased all my transgressions and you have removed my iniquities; my gross immorality, injustice, wickedness far from me. You have, for your own sake, forgotten all that I have done wrong.
I know this is true, so why do I hold myself hostage to my past? Why do I continue to judge myself by what I use to be or what I use to do? It’s because I haven’t forgiven myself. A lack of forgiveness of myself leaves me sitting outside the doors of the life you want and have ordained for me to live. Please forgive me for not forgiving myself.
Today, and for each day forward, I pledge to hold myself to a different standard. Not the worlds’ standards that keeps track of every wrong I’ve ever committed, but to your standards, that gives me new mercies every morning so that I may live, breath and have my being in you.
I submit myself to you Father God. Remove the anger, fear, and lack of esteem this is in me because I’m holding on to what I was. I press to move into who you’ve called me to be. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
