Prayer for Today

romans-8-1-2

April 18, 2017

Lord, I fall short of your grace and your glory every day, yet you give me brand new mercies every morning. Most days I brush off my shortfalls and keep it moving. I say, “I’ll do better tomorrow”, but sometimes the guilt of what I’ve done, or haven’t done, weights heavy on my heart and mind.

I know your word says there is no shame or condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus but when I don’t spend quality time in prayer, reading or studying my bible, I feel like I’ve let you and myself down. I feel like you should be mad at me and I’ve missed out on something that I needed because I didn’t spend enough time with you.

It is in times like this that I am glad that all my sins; past, present and future sins, are under the blood of Jesus! You, Lord God, made eternal provisions for all my short falls. Thank you for not holding my sins against me and thank you for loving me even when I’m not obedient to your word.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
