Father, we need you more today than ever before. Every day we turn on the news and there’s another story of someone hurting or killing a child. Every day our government leaders are at each other’s throats. Every day there seems to be another country testing weapons in preparation for war. Every day, it seems there’s another threat of terrorism – either domestic or international.
Lord, for some people the seemingly unending stream of madness has caused them to stress and to be anxious about their lives. Many people are finding it difficult to find peace during the madness and other people are considering just giving up and taking a, “I can’t” attitude rather than being resilient.
God, I am bringing all these people to you and asking for you to calm their hearts and minds. I am asking that you would send your spirit of comfort, peace and tranquility. I am asking you to help them know that you are God and am in complete control of everything that is going on. Nothing is beyond your reach and nothing has escaped you and you know how to protect, cover and keep your children physically safe and mentally sound.
Father, I pray this pray, in Jesus name. Amen.
