Prayer for Today

Jeremiah 17 7 and

March 22, 2017

Lord, your word says eyes have not seen and ears have not heard all you have planned for your children. I know that you have planted greatness in me and if I remain in you, you will remain in me and I will produce great fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Today, I don’t feel greatness, I feel overwhelmed. I don’t feel like everything is going to be alright, I feel like everything is going to hell in a handbasket. I don’t feel like I’m blessed in the city and blessed in the field, I feel like my blessings have missed me.

On days like this, it’s difficult for me to remind myself that I don’t live by what I hear or see. Instead I live like a tree planted by streams of water. The weather may change around me, but the water that gives me life is still causing me to grow. External circumstances may change, but my internal lifeline does not.

Jesus is my living water and he does not change. So, while I see things around me changing I must remember that I am a tree, planted in God’s garden, tended to by the Master Gardener. I will never wither and die because my God takes care of me. I am never thirsty; for you, Lord God, are my shepherd and in you, I lack nothing.

Today Lord, help me stay ground in your word, which is to be grounded in you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

God specializes in handling our situations and circumstances. Nothing we can do or anywhere we can go is beyond God’s ability and desire to reach us.

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
