Lord God, the world seems to be going to hell in a handbasket. Everyday there’s a shooting, a murder or someone innocent dying due to an act of violence or terrorism. There are people fleeing their countries trying to find a better way of life only to find themselves unwanted anywhere and having nowhere to go.
Children drowning as they try to cross into new and safe environment, and parents left to mourn the loss of the child. Children trying to get to and from school without being shot and/or killed by gangs and parents feeling the sting of having to bring their children up in a hopeless environment.
There are people dying at the hands of police over the slightest infraction and police dying at the hands of angry, unstable people with guns. Children are being left parentless, spouses being left widowed and communities in turmoil and grief. Father God, we need your help like never before!
Where can we turn to if not to you, Lord God? Who will hear I cries for help and answer us with their love and kindness if it’s not you? The time has come for the world citizens to turn to you and reassert our trust in you, Father God. Only you can heal our land.
Heal us Emmanuel, this is our prayer. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
