Many bad things are going on in the world. Things seem dark. It feels like evil is conquering good. Hate is winning over love, and injustice is the order of the day. But to You, even the dark is not dark.
Unrest, uprisings, and havoc seem to reign over our world. Peace, joy, love, care, and concern for others seem to have disappeared from our lives and vocabulary. It appears we are wandering in the darkness of a sick and sad world. But Lord, I am grateful that You are the light of the world, and not even the dark is dark to You.
You, Lord God, can see what is before us and what our future holds. You can see to lead us out of the darkness and into Your marvelous light. Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. You lead us to all righteousness. Lord, help us follow You where You lead, even when we don’t know where You’re going, and it still looks like darkness to us. Our trust is in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
