Lord God, in the midst of my preparing for great things this year, help me not to lose sight of You and the work You have already begun in me. In 2019, through difficulties, heartaches and circumstances that I had no control over, You began breaking me out of my old self and began molding me into who You purposed me to be from the foundation of the earth.
This breaking process required me to begin some good changes last year that should be carried into this year so I should build on them.
Father, this type of in-depth look at who I am from the inside out is difficult, sometimes hurtful, and requires a level of truthfulness I am not accustomed to operating in, particularly not with myself.
In order for me to correctly judge myself, I need Your word as a measuring rod. I need Your word as a guide. I need Your word as the standard for which I am striving to live. To truly prepare myself for this year’s blessings, changes and enrichments, I need Your word to be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Lord, help me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
