Lord God, somedays it seems that I neglect, overlook, or take for granted those who love and care about me the most. It seems I’m always reaching for more, aspiring for greater, pressing for something else or moving so fast that I forget to say, “please,” “thank you” or “you’re welcome” to the very people who are working to help me move to greater heights.

Lord God, today, help me to be more conscious of how I treat the people who love me the most. Help me hold them in high esteem and show them how much I appreciate them. Help me to look beyond my ambitions and see that they too want to achieve great things. Help me focus on them today; on their needs, their desires, their hopes, and their dreams.

Lord, help me not be so self-center and self-absorbed. Help me to consider the needs of others, particularly those who are always here for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
