Romans 8 37

March 23, 2017

Adversity is a part of life. Whether you believe in Jesus Christ as Savior or not, you are going to face adversity. The question is, HOW are you going to face adversity?

Mediocrity says: “Why does this ALWAYS happen to me?! Every time I turn around something bad is always staring me in my face. I’m not perfect but I’m not as bad as so-and-so, who never seems to have any problems. That’s why I can’t stand them, they are always smiling and happy. Not a care in the world!

Above mediocrity says: “Life is difficult but I am an overcomer! I won’t complain, I won’t nag God and I won’t give up. I’ve been in tight situations before and God has always brought me out. This time will be no different. I will wait on the Lord and be encouraged until God turns my situation around for my good.” (II Corinthians 4:8 – 12; Roman 8:37 and Romans 8:28)

People who are mediocre tend to be haters! They can’t stand to see others doing better than themselves but they are not willing do to, or go through, what is necessary in order to be more than what they have already become.

You don’t see people who are living above mediocrity belittling, berating or down playing other people. They don’t have to because they have positioned themselves to accomplish great things themselves. They don’t have time to worry about what someone else is or is not doing.
