titus-2-9-10

May 31, 2017

When we are at work it is easy to get discouraged by some of the things that go on. How people talk to us or maybe they don’t talk to us at all. Being passed over for promotions, being asked to train people to do our jobs, being moved to a service area, branch or directorate we don’t want to go to.

Being treated like we’re expendable, seeing the unfair treatment of ourselves and others and, being threatened by the loss of our salaries and benefits. While all the drama and trauma is going on, we know there is more to us than others think or see.

All these things and so many more can lead us to say or do things that are not in line with God’s word. In Titus, Paul admonishes us to act righteous at work no matter what’s going on in our lives.

Paul says don’t talk about you bosses behind their backs, don’t steal from them and, I’m going to go out on a very long limb here and say, this includes stealing time from them. Jesus said, “’Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.” (Mark 12:17). This means that the 8 or 9 hours a day we are at work, we are to work at our jobs, not other things.

We are to treat our supervisors and managers the way we want to be treated even if they don’t treat us well. Why? So, in everything we do we are giving glory to God. This will allow people who don’t know Jesus as Savior will see him in a good light because of our actions or, our non-actions.

Remember, God will judge our supervisors and managers on how they treat us but he will judge you and I on how we represent him.

I’m going to always rise above the doubt that may exist about me.” T.I.

God specializes in handling our situations and circumstances. Nothing we can do or anywhere we can go is beyond God’s ability and desire to reach us.

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
