Word for Today

Success or Failure

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called He also justified, and those whom He justified he also glorified.” Romans 8:29 – 30 (NIV)

No one wants to get to face the end of their life and consider themselves a failure. In fact, most people don’t want to fail at anything they endeavor to do. But, do we feel the same way about fulfilling our God-given purpose?

Are you willing to fail at what God has predestined you to do in order to fit into someone else’s box?

Are you willing to forego your calling so you can be liked? Are you willing to neglect your predestination in order to get along with others? Are you willing to fail God so others can feel good about you?

Sometimes, you are called out of your current situation and into your destiny like David, but other times, you’ve got to walk into your destiny in spite of what others may think or say. You’ve got to know that if God called you to your destiny, he’s made way for you to fulfill your call. You have to believe that your gifts will make room for you.

Are you struggling with knowing you’re more than others give you credit for? Or, are you fighting within yourself to move past your fears and reach for the unknown because you know that God has ordained greater for you?

If your answer to either of these questions is “yes” then you have a bigger question to answer; Are you willing to be a failure in God’s plan for you, rather than being the success he’s already ordained you be?

Not succeeding at your God-given task means hundreds, possibly thousands or even millions of lives will not be affected by the eternal plan that is in you.

Prayer: Lord, I need you to help me have a clear view of what you want me to do in order to fulfill your plan for my life. Help me to see true success is being obedient to your will for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Just for Today: I will seek God so I can have a clear view of his plan for my life.

Quote: “You take the negative, the bitter, the pain, the suffering, the depression, and all of those are ingredients for something far more purposeful than you can imagine.” – Lecrae
