Prayer for Today

May 19, 2021

Lord, You are more than my peace. You are my Shalom. You are the reason I am complete; nothing missing from my life, nothing out of place. You are the fulfillment of everything I need when the need arises. You are my “I Am Who I Am” God.

Father, when everything seems to be going to hell in a handbasket, You lift a standard against my internal and external enemies, including the enemy I am sometimes to myself. You are my Shalom.

Yes, Lord, I recognize that sometimes I’m my own worst enemy. My old habits, my old thought patterns, and old attitudes want to rise and have me live the way I used to live before Jesus became my Savior and Lord.

I am a new creation. Old things have died, and I am new in Christ Jesus. I have His shalom living in me. The peace that Jesus has given me quiets my mind when anxiety attacks. His peace calms my emotions when fear and depression want to rage in me. Today, I will operate in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
