Lord, sometimes I feel like running away from all the stuff that is going on in the world right now. All the hate, negativity, lack of compassion, the one-sidedness, our refusal to see things from someone else’s perfective. Our lack of love for one another. But where would I run?
The world is full of hate, malice, greed, malcontent, inequality, and ignorance. The only place I could run to is to You.
Father God, when it feels like the earth around me is sinking sand, I run to You, the solid rock on which I can stand. You are the rock of my salvation.
When I look out at the landscape of the heart of people and see no love, no joy, no peace, and no mercy, I can run to You. Lord God, You have given me peace that surpasses all understanding. You’ve given me joy that is full of glory and love everlasting.
Thank You, Jesus, for being my shelter in a tired, down-trodden, and weary land. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
