Father God, Your word tells me to pray for those in leadership and power. I come today to pray for the President, Senators, Congressmen, governors, mayors, county executives, and other elected officials because they may be in power. Still, many of them are not acting for the betterment of the people.
Lord God, please help our country’s leaders see that the road leading us down is a damned one. As the country is entering a place where there was a turning with the pandemic, and we could see the light at the end of the tunnel for an economic downturn, the diseases of hate, racism, sexism, and bigotry have gone on full display. The leaders have done nothing to quail the unrest.
All the posturing and all the politics are just for show. Please give the leaders compassionate hearts to see beyond their own fat bank accounts, and care about everyday working Americans. People who just want to go to work, feed their families, pay their rent and mortgages, and save a little for a rainy day.
I know Lord that we vote them into office because we think they will do the job that needs to be done to make our country better. But no matter who I vote for, my hope and trust are in You. I know You’ll always be the God I need You to be, no matter what global leadership may do. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
