Father, there is a song that says, *“tragedies are commonplace, all kinds of diseases, people are slipping away, the economy’s down, people can’t get enough pay, but as for me all I can say is thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me.”
Every victim of COVID-19 could have been one of my family members or me. Every homeless person I see could have been me. Every person addicted to a drug could have been me. Every person who is all alone could have been me. Every person who died too soon because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time could have been me.
There is nothing special about me. I am nothing more than a sinner who has been saved by Your grace. Any of those stories could have been my story, except for Your loving kindness and tender mercies.
Those stories aren’t my life story, not because of anything I’ve done, but because You didn’t choose those paths for me. Thank you, Lord, for all You’ve done for me.
In Jesus’ name, I pray and give You thanks. Amen.
