Lord God, I look around, and there seems to be wars, earthquakes, floods, and other disasters looming in every corner. I pray for the people directly affected by wars and disasters all over the world.

I pray for the people who lost loved ones in the shooting at the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA. I pray for the survivors and the family and friends of the victims. Lord, I pray that you would continue to help the survivors heal from their losses of family, friends, and loved ones and the horrors of just being there during the time of the shooting.

I pray for the heart and mind of our nation, Lord God. Guns and other weapons are not problems. The problem is we have so much hate, jealousy, resentment, anger, and malice in our hearts as a nation, we have violence over peace, division over unity, and hate over love. God, we need you.

Lord, help those of us who call ourselves Your children to show Your love to a lost and dying world. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
