Jesus, you are my voice of truth. I have listened to other voices who are telling me who I’m not, what I’m not, what I can and can’t do and how to stay stuck in the rut they want for me. I have listened to the voices on my television, my radio and even from my family members reminding me to stay in my place.
All these voices are loud and constant. They never let up! The negative, nagging and inimical voices are relentless in telling me what I can’t do, what I can’t have and what I can’t become. Lord God, I’m tired of listening to them!
During this Lenten season, I am committed to renewing my mind by listening to your voice, which is the word of God. I will read and study your word with renewed energy and conviction. I will listen to and believe you because you are my voice of truth.
In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
