Heavenly Father, I’ve come to ask you to forgive me for not making you the center of all the decisions I make in every aspect of my life. I pick and choose what I’m going to ask you about and then, if you take too long to answer, I move forward without waiting for you to give an answer.
When it comes time for me to make decisions I don’t acknowledge you are the only wise God both now and forever. You know my beginning from my ending. You know when I lie down and when I rise up. You know what is best for me at all times, in every situation and under every circumstance. Forgive me for relying on earthly measures like my job, credit cards, unbiblical self-help books and celebrity talk shows to help me make my decisions.
If I listen to you, you will give me sound answers to everything going on in my life. It is only because of your mercy and your grace that I am able to stand in confidence, soundness of mind and wholeness of spirit knowing that you will lead and guide me to all truths.
Guide my heart and mind from pride in myself, my abilities and my resources and lead me to the Rock that is higher than me, Jesus Christ. In his name I pray. Amen.
