God is faithful - temptation

March 3, 2016

We are all tempted. There is always something we want to do or want to have that we know isn’t good for us. Possibly, we get tempted because God has told us we can’t have something; much like Adam in the Garden of Eden when God told him not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When the serpent came to tempt Adam and Eve, what did he use as the key to his temptation? The tree of the knowledge of good and evil! So what do we do about temptation?

Mediocrity says:        “I’m only human! God knows my heart. He knows I love Him but I’m weak. If God didn’t want me to do this or if God didn’t want me to have this, He would stop me from doing it or having it. But He didn’t, so He must be okay with it.”

Above mediocrity says: “Help me God! I don’t want to fail You. I need to look for the way of escape before I make You look bad. If I fail, and someone who is considering making Christ their Savior sees me, I will mess them up. Help me Lord!” (I Corinthians 10:13; I Corinthians 8:10 – 12; I Corinthians 13:4)

During this Lenten Season, let us purpose not to “crucify the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” for the rest of our lives! (Romans 6:4 – 6) Let us repent from yielding to temptation! Let us seek God for our way to escape when we are tempted!

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
