Our Gifts Given by God

“Each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.” I Corinthians 7:7 (NIV)

Everyone, and there are no exceptions, has a special gift given to them by God. Our gifts are to be used to further the kingdom of God here on earth, to increase our prosperity and to give us opportunities to operate in the fullness of who we authentically are. While all that is true, it does not mean that we’re all going to be succeed.

Our gifts must be cultivated over time. Nurtured by our continuing quest to do more and do it better and matured by learning from our failures, otherwise, we squander God’s gifts.

We live in a time when opportunities are around every corner but so are distractions. We work in a global community that allows us to move beyond the normal and into the extraordinary by just sitting in front of our computers, which can also lead us to temptations if we aren’t diligent.

All of our gifts are given by God and are on loan to us. God wants us to use our gifts, not waste them sitting around watching unreal reality TV. God wants us to use our gifts, not compare our gifts to our people’s gifts. If you truly want to do more in your life, you must build it on the gifts that you have not on the ones you wish you had.

Be faithful to the gifts that God has given you and God will be faithful to fulfill his call on your life.

Prayer:

God, I want to use my gifts to my best ability. Every gift I have belongs to you and, I only have them because you’ve loan it to me. Let me not squander my gifts or get distracted and fail to live up to my call. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Quote:

A gift consists not in what is done or given, but in the intention of the giver or doer. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

God specializes in handling our situations and circumstances. Nothing we can do or anywhere we can go is beyond God’s ability and desire to reach us.

Stop fretting over things you can’t do anything about and give them to God. He can take care of them completely.
