Word for Today

Our Gifts Given by God

Everyone and there is no exceptions, has a special gift given to them by God. Our gifts are to be used to further the kingdom of God here on earth, to increase our prosperity, and to gives us opportunities to operate in the fullness of who we authentically are. While all that is true, it does not mean we’re going to succeed.

We should cultivate our gifts, and nurtured them by our continuing quest to do more and do it better and mature by learning from our failures. Otherwise, we squander God’s gifts.

We live in a time when opportunities are around every corner, but so are distractions. We work in a global community that allows us to move beyond the normal and into the extraordinary just by sitting in front of our computers, which can also lead us to temptations if we’re not diligent.

All of our gifts are given by God and are on loan to us. God wants us to use our gifts, not waste them sitting around watching unreal reality TV. God wants us to use our gifts, not compare our gifts to our people’s gifting. If we want to do more in our lives, we must build it on the gifts that we have. Wishing for or lamenting about gifts we don’t have is a waste of time

Be faithful to the gifts that God has given you and, God will be faithful to fulfill His call on your life.

Prayer: God, I want to use my gifts to my best ability. Every gift I have belongs to You, and I only have it because You loaned it to me. Let me not squander my gifts or get distracted and fail to live up to my call. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Just for Today: I will assess my gifts and how I can use them to bring God glory.

Quote: “A gift consists not in what is done or given, but in the intention of the giver or doer.” Lucius Annaeus Seneca
