Lord, for the last several years, I set plans at the beginning of the year; I do goal charts, vision boards and make lists of all the steps I have to do to complete my goals or visions. But, at the end of the year, everything looks very much like it did at the beginning of the year. This year, I commit to breaking the cycle of trying to do things my way.
In 2020, I am going to stop trying to do things without Your input, Your guidance, and Your approval. I’m also going to stop being fearful of not knowing every step I need to take. I commit to following You, Lord God, and going through every door You open for me.
I will stay vitally connected to You by prayer, reading, and studying my Bible. I will believe what You say about me in Your word and I will believe Your promises to me.
This year, Lord, I’m going to live out the children’s game of following the leader. You are the leader of my life, and I am committed to going to following You where ever You take me. This is my sincere and heartfelt prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
