Father, as I take the time to look over 2019, I realize I need to ask Your forgiveness. In 2019 I didn’t focus on You, Your plan for my life and the purpose for which You have placed me everywhere I am. Whether my job, in my family, in my church or a social circle, You have placed me there for the purpose of furthering Your kingdom here on earth.
More often than not, I was focused on the things of this world; my finances, the things I wanted that didn’t seem to come my way. I focused on what I don’t have much more than I focused on Your provision for me every day. For this, I am sorry and ask for Your forgiveness.
Lord, in 2020 I commit to being more thankful. Thankful for Your love, Your goodness, and Your provisions. I may not have everything I want, but You promised to supply all my needs, not my greed. I may not have what I think someone else has, but I know You have my best interest at heart. I may not be able to accomplish everything I want to do, but help me to accomplish everything You purpose me to do.
Today Lord, I commit to focusing on You, Your love, and the grace and mercy You show me, my family, and my friends. I will purpose to be in a position of praising You for everything, every day. I commit to not complaining or comparing as much in 2020 as I did in 2019. I will allow Your grace and mercy to speak out of my life and into the world so that people can come to know You for themselves.
These are my commitments to You in 2020. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
