Lord God, You alone are God, and there is no other god besides You.

You alone created the heavens and the earth. You alone called forth light and separated it from darkness; parted the waters of the sky and the waters of the earth.

By Yourself, You brought everything into being that has or had life and You are the one who calls forth both destruction and deliverance. There is not another god on earth, in heaven, or under the earth. Anything else we set up as gods are merely idols made of clay and wood.

Forgive me, Lord, if I’ve made anything an idol in my life. My spouse, money, car, power, title, position, prestige, fame, or anything else; they are not my god, only You are my God, my Lord, and my Master.

It is not my intent to place another anything or anyone before you. Deliver me from the evil of this world and cleanse my heart.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
