Most Holy God, this morning I pray for all the leaders in our country. The President, Senators, Congress, Supreme Court Justices, Judges and everyone who has been privileged to be in a place of authority that allows them to make decisions that will bring about the greater good for all people.
Lord I pray that they will allow your love, your wisdom and your knowledge to rest, rule and dictate what they do and how they do it. Remind them that they have been put in their positions by you, through the vote of common working-class people of this nation, and it is their responsibility, as leaders, to care for all our nations’ citizens.
Lord, protect our leaders from hate groups. Violent and ignorant men and women, many who call themselves Christians, but are filled with hate, that want to bring terror to our country. Touch those who hate with the knowledge of your love so that they may know what it is to love like Christ. Please watch over our nation and keep our citizens safe.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
