Lord God, as I begin this Lenten season I don’t want to simply give up things like soda, chocolate or television, just to take them up again when Lent is over. Lord, I want to make at least one change that will make my life better for the rest of my life.
Father God, I come before you repenting of my sins, those known and unknown. I purpose to live my life for your glory.
Search me Lord, for you know me completely. Cleans me Lord and I will be clean. Make me a usefully vessel for your work. Bring my will in line with your will for me and cause my heart to turn completely to you.
Lord, if there is anything in me that is not like you, begin the process of removing it so that I may reflect your Son Jesus in everything I do and, in every word, I say. Father, from this day forward let there be a change in me that brings glory and honor to you.
In Jesus name I pray, amen.
